*The Israeli Infantry Corps is a corps in the IDF Army Headquarters. It is a maneuvering corps which primarily relies on infantry troops. It includes several regular and reserve service units and brigades which are operatively commanded by the IDF regional commands.

 How the Color was Chosen- Light Green. There were several options for the new color Beret for the Nahal. One Beret was yeloow, like the sun, which was disqualified due to fear that the soldiers will be referred to as Daisies. Another was Orange as a carrot and was disqualified due to the fear that the soldiers will be reffered to as Rabbits(Cowards) At the end a soldier gave a smart answer “It doesn’t matter which color the Beret will be, as log as there will be a color that can be said is ours”. The decision to give the Nahal its own beret was decided in 1988. Until then the warriors owned Black Berets. There were three criteria’s that were taken into consideration by the members of the Brigade while choosing a color. That there will not be a similar Beret in the IDF, the color wont fade and that it will match the IDF uniform and the Red background of the pin. Eventually a light green color was chosen.
