Sayaret Givati Recon Unit of infantry brigade was originally known as 'Shualei Shimshon' (Samson's Foxes), a unit that operated during the Israel war of Independence with commended valor. Reestablished in 1980's under the command of the Givati Regiment.

The Givati purple beret is admired by all.
